Some of my favorite paintings are ones with fun backgrounds and a simple design on top. These types of paintings are great if you are a beginner, or if you just want to add a cute piece to your wall. I make a lot of flower designs this way, as it’s much simpler than trying to add all the colored details. In this post I have included some of the paintings I have created, to help inspire you to create your own!
Coffee Mug Painting
This coffee painting is great to put in your kitchen, or even a coffee shop! First, I painted the canvas a light tan color, before adding the 4 blobs of different shades of brown in each corner. After the background was dry, I sketched the coffee mug with pencil first, finishing by painting the design.
Flower Field Painting
This flower field painting is very simple and beginner friendly. I started by adding different dots of the colors orange, gray pink, and white to my canvas. I blended the colors until I was happy with how it looked and it dry completely. Next, I added each of the flowers.
Flowers in Glass Dome Painting
This painting reminds me of Beauty and the Beast. I started by sketching where I wanted the lines in the background to go, before filling them in with one color at a time. After that was completely dry, I sketched my design with pencil, before painting with black.
Aesthetic Plant Painting
This aesthetic plant painting is very beginner-friendly and super cute. I first painted the canvas a lighter pink, before adding the 4 blobs of darker shades of pink in each corner. After the background was dry, I added some simple plant outlines and a few dotted-circles. I used a water bottle cap to help get with the circles.
I included this painting in my “Acrylic Painting Ideas for Beginners” post.
Smiley Face Paintings
These smiley face paintings are a great way to brighten up the room with their good vibes. I first drew a rough outline of where I wanted my lines to be. Next, I painted the different colors in the background, one color at a time, and let that dry before adding the smiley face. I used a bowl to help with the big circle and a cup for the smile.
I made the pink and purple one for my apartment, and the blue and green one for my brother!
