Not all furniture flipping projects sell at the same pace. Some pieces can go weeks without a buyer, while some can sell within hours of listing.
In order to identify what sells best in your area, it’s important to look back at your past flips and analyze how your audience responded so you know what type of furniture to look for in the future. In my area, dressers and end tables are always in high demand, so I focus on flipping those pieces.
This post will detail the fastest selling furniture pieces I have sold and what I believe made them sell so quickly.
#4- Cream-Colored Dresser
It can be scary to invest in a unique piece, and when I completed this project, I had no clue whether anybody would like it. Initially, I painted the whole dresser with no other additions, but it felt unfinished. Thats when I added pole wrap to the pillars on this dresser, which gave it character and a unique style. This dresser sold around 6 hours after I listed it for the listing price of $300.
I believe the pole wrap was a big factor in why it sold so fast because it turned a regular dresser into a statement piece.

#3- Tallboy Dresser
Just like the previous dresser, I was pretty unsure whether this piece would sell quickly or take a while to sell. I’ve had a lot of success selling lowboy dressers individually, however I didn’t often sell tallboy dressers unless it was part of a set. However after I listed this piece, it immediately got lots of attention and sold quickly for $375.
This tallboy is truly a one-of-a-kind piece, and I believe the pole wrap on the top two drawers was the reason it sold so quickly.

#2- Two-Toned Dark Dresser
When I listed this dresser on marketplace, I knew it would not take long for it to sell. Hours after listing, this dresser was sold for the listing price of $325.
I believe the wooden base was the main contributor to why this dresser sold so fast. It can be hard to find dresser bases nowadays that are solid wood, but whenever I do I know it will be a popular piece. Combined with the dark paint color, this standout piece got a lot of attention and the buyer was extremely happy with her purchase.

#1- Sage Green Dresser Set
This set was by far the most popular listing I have ever posted.
I picked this set up from marketplace for only $100, and I had a very clear vision on what I wanted the end product to look like. The top of the dressers were veneer, so I sanded those down and gave them a light paint wash. Then I painted the rest of the dressers a sage green color, and spray painted the handles as well.
This was the first set I had ever completed, so I was unsure what to list it at. I decided to list it at $585, which I eventually learned was not enough. Around 15 minutes after listing, I had a buyer asking when they could pick it up.
The price was definitely a big contributor to its fast selling rate, however I also think that the style of the dresser helped as well. The unique detailing combined with the sage green paint color gave the set a very unique look, and I was very happy with how it turned out in the end.

Concluding Thoughts
It’s hard to perfectly predict what furniture will sell the fastest in your area until you experiment and try different styles out. As you get more experience under your belt, you will be able to better identify what works best and the type of pieces that people like in your area.
With patience and experience, you’ll quickly start to see which pieces are worth flipping and which ones to pass on.
