If you have flipped furniture in the past, you’ve probably had that one piece that just sits there… no views, no messages, no sale. Then once you finally get a message, it is a lowball offer that makes you contemplate your whole life.
In order to prevent this from happening, you can quickly add value to your pieces with some simple tips. These will help you sell your flips faster, and for more money.
1. Update the hardware
Don’t get me wrong– vintage hardware can actually add a lot of character to your piece, and sometimes it is best to not replace it. However, a lot of vintage hardware simply dates the piece, and it doesn’t match the rest of the dresser anymore if it was updated.
An easy way to add value to your piece is to replace the original hardware with a modern-style pull. By choosing a popular color such as brass, matte black, or gold, you can instantly add more interest to your piece which will lead to a quicker sale.

2. Add texture to your piece
Flat pieces can feel cheap or unfinished. Adding texture to your piece is one of the best ways you can sell your pieces for more money and make the piece more unique.
One way you can add texture to your piece is by using pole wrap or wood paneling. Anytime I have used pole wrap on a dresser, it typically sells within the first few days of listing it.

Another way you can add texture to your piece is by using wood paneling. In the example below, I added it to the sides of the dresser to add texture, and it ended up selling the same day I listed it.

3. Improve your photos
When you first begin flipping furniture, you may not think that small details such as the photos you use on your listing can change the value of your piece. However, the photos you use on your listing actually makes a huge difference in the amount of clicks you get on your listing.
The environment that your dresser is in plays a huge role in the perceived value of a piece. Even if you have a dresser that looks like it is in perfect condition, it will be seen as less valuable if it is in a dirty or poorly lit environment.
It is also important to make it easy to help your customers envision the piece in their home. If the small details of the piece are not clearly visible in your photos, this makes it harder for customers to identify if its what they’re looking for.
If you don’t have a good place to take photos of your piece, consider using an AI-generated photo to use as the cover of your listing. Make sure that the AI-generated image accurately replicates your piece, and you mention that the photo is AI-generated in the caption.

Conclusion
The truth is that the details make all the difference. Yes, it is important to be efficient with your time if you are flipping furniture for profit. However, if you rush the process and don’t pay attention to the little things, it will likely show in the end product.
By keeping these three points in mind during your next flip, you may be able to add extra value to your piece so it sells faster and for more money.
