I’m Mason Lorenzen, a marketing major at the University of Northern Iowa originally from Randolph, Minnesota, and the founder of The Undergrad Investor. I started this platform because I saw how many college students — including myself at one point — felt overwhelmed or intimidated by investing. Between classes, internships, and planning for life after graduation, learning how to grow your money can feel like something you’ll “figure out later.” I created The Undergrad Investor to make investing simple, practical, and actually relevant to students who want to start early and build real momentum.
My goal isn’t to act like a financial guru — it’s to learn, share, and grow alongside other driven students who want more control over their financial future. Through breaking down investing basics, sharing insights, and focusing on long-term thinking, I want to help undergrads build confidence with their money. If you’re ambitious, curious, and ready to start building wealth before you graduate, you’re in the right place.
