Well… here we are. The final blog post.
It feels surreal to write those words, honestly. When I started this photography journey, I had no idea what I was getting into. I just knew I loved capturing moments—light, shadow, emotion, life. What I didn’t realize back then was how deep the rabbit hole really goes.
Photography is such a learning curve. In the beginning, it was all buttons and settings and “Wait, what does ISO do again?” I remember Googling every little thing, watching endless tutorials, and second-guessing every photo I took. It was frustrating, sure—but also incredibly exciting. I was learning. I was absorbing everything like a sponge. And slowly, things started to click.
You don’t really notice it at first, but one day you realize you’re making decisions instinctively. You’re not fumbling through menus—you’re shooting with intention. You start trusting your eye more, chase better light, stop overthinking, and just shoot. That’s when things get fun.
And through this blog, I’ve picked up a few key lessons that I’ll carry with me no matter where my creative path goes:
Things I’ve Learned Along the Way:
- Go out and get experience.
You have to start somewhere. You don’t learn by waiting for the perfect moment—you learn by doing, failing, adjusting, and doing it all over again. - Get another point of view.
Whether it’s physically moving around your subject or getting feedback from someone you trust, a new perspective can completely change how you see your own work. - Trust your instincts.
Make the moves that feel right to you. Don’t wait for someone to approve your idea—shoot it. Make the image that’s in your head. Your vision matters, even if it doesn’t look like anyone else’s. - Believe in your ideas.
Not every shot will be a hit—but every idea is worth exploring. Some of my favorite images came from following a gut feeling. Always bet on your own creativity.
Additionally, This blog has been such a cool way to document that journey. From awkward first shoots to “aha” moments, to finding my style—I’ve loved sharing it all here. And even though this is the last post, I’m not done learning. Photography doesn’t really end. It just keeps evolving, and I’ll keep evolving with it. Take a look at my past articles!!
To everyone who’s followed along—thank you. Seriously. Whether you read one post or stuck with me from the start, I appreciate you more than you know.

So here’s to being a sponge. To learning, growing, and never putting the camera down for too long.
Sincerely,
Faith Zanoni – Zanoni Photos
