Every wedding day is unique, but the general schedule is pretty similar to what’s in the timeline below. Here’s what a typical day looks like from my lens during a wedding day!
12:00 PM – Bride Prep & Detail Shots
I arrive as the bride is getting ready. I start by capturing the details: the dress, rings, invitations, and candid moments that showcase the day’s emotions.
1:00 PM – Groom & Groomsmen
Next, I check in with the groom and his party. I document the final touches, the adjusting of ties, pinning boutonnieres, and capture the group’s dynamic.
1:45 PM – First Look
One of the most heartfelt moments. Whether it’s the bride and groom or a father seeing his daughter, I discreetly capture the genuine reactions and emotions that unfold.
2:15 PM – Bridal Party & Family Photos
While the photographer arranges formal shots, I focus on the in-between moments, the laughter, stolen glances, and interactions that add depth to the wedding film.
4:00 PM – Ceremony
Multiple cameras are set up to capture different angles. I record the vows, the exchange of rings, and the couple’s first kiss, ensuring to make sure the ceremony is preserved.
5:00 PM – Cocktail Hour & Reception Details
As guests mingle, I film the reception area before it’s filled, table settings, centerpieces, the cake. These shots help tell the complete story of the day.
6:00 PM – Grand Entrance & Dinner
Capturing the couple’s grand entrance and the guests’ reactions is key. During dinner I capture the speeches and special moments.
6:45 PM – Speeches & Toasts
These speeches often provide the narrative thread for the wedding film, filled with personal stories and emotions.
7:40 PM – First Dances & Open Dance Floor
From the couple’s first dance to the parents’ dances, I capture these intimate moments.
9:00 PM – Wrap-Up
Once the dance floor opens, I document the energy and joy of the celebration. I capture the final moments before packing up!
I then head home, back up the footage, and crash, already excited to edit the story together!
