Episode 2; DANGER! Life is a Construction Zone.

Tyler, a senior in college pursuing a degree in construction management, brings valuable full-time summer work experience and is well-versed in the ups and downs of work and life. Outside of work, he has a huge passion for weightlifting, which helps him improve both physically and mentally.

In this episode, Tyler and I shared plenty of laughs while discussing how to slow down, focus, and be intentional when the moment calls for it. One key takeaway from Tyler’s experience is the best advice he’s ever received: “Life is not that serious.” This mindset encourages us to ease the pressure we put on ourselves, embrace imperfection, and allow more joy and laughter in our lives.

Tyler also opened up about the challenges he’s faced, including moments when he had to confront his own mistakes. He shared stories about being called out by a boss for being unreliable and about an incident where he accidentally broke a company vehicle at a job site. Through it all, Tyler learned valuable lessons on accountability and minimizing “Oops” moments when things move too fast.

In the “Learning Roulette” segment, Tyler offered his expertise on fishing, sharing tips on how to reel in the big ones. He also managed to stump me in a hilarious round of “Two Truths and a Try.”

This week, I’m taking on a challenge with Tyler as we work together on his school project to build a deck. We’ll tackle the highs and lows of the process and share our progress on the Learning Curves social media accounts, so be sure to follow along!

And don’t forget to stick around until the end—some hilarious bloopers await you! Tyler has so much to teach us, and I truly enjoyed having him on the show. I hope you all enjoy this episode!
