I am an outgoing and passionate content creator interested in exploring and highlighting facets of Iowa and its culture because of the many friends I’ve made from all part of the state.
How I got started
In my junior year of high school, the sports statistic tracking website BoundIA dropped. I was immediately hooked. Every day before (and sometimes during) Spanish class I would check the stats of teams all around the state of Iowa.
This completely opened my eyes to schools and areas of Iowa I had never heard of before. A year later, and I had learned almost all the names of the high schools in Iowa.
I arrived at college, and I thought that I had a useless skill. However, when I started to meet people from far and wide, things started to click for me. I had been keeping up with their teams for the last two years, and now I had a chance to connect with them.
My Why
From there, my passion has only grown. Meeting more and more people from every corner of the state has become an invigorating process. I take great pride in that. I relish the moments that people will say: “you wouldn’t know my high school!” I’ll respond with a simple: “try me!”
Getting to build those relationships and meet people has been the highlight of my story as the Iowa High School Guy. What makes this state so great is the towns we come from , and the mindset we as Iowan’s all share. We’ve all heard about the ‘Iowa Nice’ attitude, but that’s just what makes us so special.
Looking Ahead
In the future, I hope to continue my knowledge of Iowa to build relationships. Likewise, I hope to never stop learning about the wonderful things that can be found in every nook and cranny of this amazing state.
