The flower of the week is baby’s breath! Baby’s breath is gorgeous by itself or with other flowers! When we sell it at the flower shop I work at, we love to combine it with roses as a filler and it is so pretty! Some people love to get bunches of it by itself for parties, graduation parties, or baby showers. All in all, it is a great flower if you want a lot of bang for your buck because it has lots of blooms on it. Here are some care tips and fun facts about baby’s breath!
Care Tips:
- Find a clean vase and fill it with fresh, cold water with some flower food.
- Cut the stems of your baby’s breath at an angle and make sure they comfortably fits in the vase.
- If your baby’s breath is with other flowers, maybe consider taking some pieces off the bottom of the baby’s breath stem so it doesn’t mold.
- If you can, make sure the arrangement is kept out of the sun to ensure they last longer.
- Be sure to cut the stems and change the water every couple days so the water stays fresh.
One main takeaway should be to make sure the flowers aren’t too tightly packed. If they are too close together, this could make them go bad faster. Like I stated before, if there are some smaller stems/blooms off the bottom of the stem, maybe consider taking those off. This won’t take away from the arrangement because baby’s breath has so many blooms on it! This just helps you get a longer life out of your baby’s breath!
