Hot Take: Stop Obsessing Over “Pinterest-Perfect”

Posted on October 11, 2025November 3, 2025 by Reagan Gorkow

Let’s be honest, the idea of “Pinterest-Perfect” has kind of ruined wedding expectations.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a well-styled ceremony and reception, all with a perfectly cohesive theme. But somewhere along the way, we let inspiration turn into a blueprint. Like you have to follow every detail, every napkin fold, to make the wedding magazine-worthy or “Instagram-able.”

But here’s my hot take: the most memorable weddings aren’t the ones with the fanciest table settings. They’re the ones where you have the most fun, where you feel the happiest. The happy tears during the vows, the laughter during dinner, and the packed dance floor at the end of the night. That kind of joyful energy doesn’t come from a perfectly-curated centerpiece, it comes from authenticity and love.

So, if you’re planning a wedding right now, and you’re drowning in all the “must-haves” from TikTok and Pinterest, take a breath. Choose what feels like you, not what looks good on a vision board. You’re allowed to ignore trends completely and just do what makes you happy. At the end of the day, your guests will remember how your wedding felt, not how it looked. Say goodbye to “Pinterest-Perfect” and hello to authenticity!
