What are the best key binds for Escape from Tarkov?

Customizing key binds in Escape from Tarkov can help any player improve their performance in the game. It is important as a new player to make sure the essential actions are setup in a way that is quick and easy to use and fits your playstyle. A well thought out key bind structure is a great way to make yourself more comfortable in raids and significantly improve reaction time during fights, which can often times be the difference between life and death.

Healing

Some of the most important actions in Escape from Tarkov revolve around healing your character. When you get injured during a raid, your ability to quickly diagnose issues and treat them can greatly impact the outcome of a fight. One of the best changes I have ever made to my key binds was a healing setting. I set my primary healing button, in my case it was the number 4, to stop heavy bleeds upon press and use a regular healing item upon release. This made it so I never accidentally healed a limb while I was still heavy bleeding. This is important because if you are healing your HP while still heavy bleeding you risk limbs blacking out.

Tactical Devices

Setting up your tactical devices to be quickly used with minimal impact on movement and aim is very important. Often times you don’t want to be walking around in a raid with your laser or flashlight on at all times. This gives away your location and can draw enemies to you or allow them to prepare for your arrival. Instead it is ideal to be able to switch these devices on only when you need them. This is often when engaging an enemy. By making this an easy to press button you can be in the middle of an engagement and turn on your flashlight to catch your opponent off-guard. This is a very effective strategy when you can do it while moving and/or shooting at the enemy.

These are just a couple of the most important key binds that can improve your gameplay. Check out the video below, where I go over all of my Tarkov key binds and explain why I have them setup the way I do.
