Love Island USA has become one of those shows you can’t help but tune into every summer. The villa, the challenges, the slow-burn romances and sudden breakups, it’s reality TV candy. But after finishing the newest season, I left with mixed feelings.

Yes, it had the usual drama, flashy edits, and big personalities, but this time the energy felt different. Instead of seeing people truly searching for love, many of the cast members seemed more focused on clout, social media fame, or money. Of course, every reality show has people looking for opportunities, but this season it felt much more obvious, and it pulled away from the romance side of the show.
The season before had a completely different vibe. The islanders felt more genuine, and even though not every couple lasted, their connections seemed real. It was easier to get invested in their stories and root for them, which is exactly what makes Love Island so addictive. That season balanced drama and authenticity in a way that the new one just didn’t capture.
That being said, the newest season was not a total miss. If you love big personalities, entertaining challenges, and over-the-top drama, it still delivered. There were plenty of shocking moments and a few sparks of genuine connection, even if they were harder to find. It was fun to watch, just not as heartfelt as
My Rating
Love Island Season 7 → ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)
Entertaining with plenty of drama, but too focused on clout and money to feel authentic.
Love Island Season 6→ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)
Much more heart, genuine connections, and a cast that felt truly open to love.
Final Verdict
Love Island USA is still binge-worthy, and the newest season is enjoyable if you are in it for the chaos and spectacle. But if you are someone who watches for authentic romance, the season before was far stronger. For me, last year’s islanders made it easier to care, root, and believe in the idea that love can actually come from reality TV. This year was fun, but the previous season still holds the crown.
