Color is a very important aspect to your photos. It can determine the engagement of your photos with your viewers. For the following photos of mine you can see the difference between straight out of the camera and after post editing, there is a feeling of emotion and significance.

Out of Camera
Some may think that the following are the only options to change color within the photo.

But, there is a secret menu not many know about which can change the look of your photo. This is called “Color Profile”, this is the instructions that determines how the picture color data is processed and displayed. Adobe has multiple profiles such as color, landscape, portrait, standard, vivid. Then there is also an option to match the colors to your specific camera profiles inside your camera settings. There are also a couple different options for profiles such as artistic, B&W, modern, and vintage. For the picture above I used Modern 08. This brought in warmth and the highlights as-well as making a flat moody look to the photo. To get to the color profile tab it is at the top of your editing tab above “light”.

You can hover over each profile to change the look to your photo to find the right profile. These profiles are not permanent to your file and you can always take it back off or change it in lightroom.
