About the Designer
Hi there! My name is Grace Barkley! I am a senior interior design student at the University of Northern Iowa. I’m from a small town in southwest Iowa where I grew up on a farm that farms row crop and raises cattle. I have two brothers and one sister as well as their spouses who are just as much my siblings along with two amazing nephews. Our farm has two Great Pyrenees; Huxley and Nova who are spoiled with truck rides and hotdogs.

I didn’t know design was my passion until my freshman year of college while being enrolled in an interior design class. I fell in love with turning spaces into functional and aesthetically appealing environments. Being able to be creative while also organizing is the best of both worlds for me!
I strive to create functional spaces that enhance human well-being and experience while presenting an aesthetic appearance. I want my creations to leave a lasting impression on users and be an inspiration for other designers.
I am a detail oriented interior design student interested in sharing the world of residential interior design with others because of the effects interior spaces have on human experience and well-being.
Come along with me to learn more about the industry and what an interior design student does!
XOXO,
Grace Barkley
