I love skincare, and I believe that skincare and cosmetics have the most interesting task when it comes to packaging design: to stand out and be practical. The brands I have included on my list are not only brands I think have good skincare formulas but I think their packaging design stands out against other brands. Some things I have taken into account in my rankings are: practicality, usability, aesthetics, and overall design.
1. Laneige
Laneige packaging is extremely functional and aesthetic. I love their products and frequently see their marketing. These are the key factors making this my best pick for 2025.
I love the minimal design on the packaging. I think it makes up for the bottles and jars being basic. Their formulas are also so amazing which puts this up pretty high on my list.
3. Round Lab
I love round lab’s constancy throughout each product. I also love their product formulas and the general iconography used in all their product designs. If you haven’t tried Round Lab before you definitely need too!
4. COSRX
While I love the formulas for COSRX its not my favorite design wise. I think the designs are a bit loud. However, I think their products are so good and practical that is what helped me place COSRX fourth on my list.
5. Innisfree
I love Innisfree’s campaigns and overall marketing as well as their packaging design. I especially love the collection featured below as well as their Jeju Cherry Blossom collection. Because their products are not what I typically gravitate to, I have included them as number five on this list.
