One of the most popular projects to make with a Cricut is to decorate glass cups or tumblers with Vinyl. There are hundreds of different brands of vinyl out there but here are the brands that I have used with my Cricut. At the end, I talk about what I think the best brand of vinyl is.
5. Make Market
This brand is exclusive to Michael’s. As I now have access to a Michael’s, I bought and used this brand once and did not care too much for it. I felt it was loose and not the greatest brand I have ever used. I think this brand would be good when starting out but overall if you were using your Cricut as a side hustle and wanted something with better quality, I would not recommend this brand.
4. Four Oh Five Basics
This brand is sold exclusively at Hobby Lobby. Overall, I feel this is easy to use but it can be flimsy and I have had problems in the past with the vinyl not cutting all of the way through. This brand is good for beginners because it is a budget friendly option but overall, it is not my favorite.
3. Cricut Smart Vinyl
The Cricut Brand Smart Vinyl might be a controversial brand and I might have it ranked higher than most people would but it honestly depends on the day whether I like it or not. When I first started with my Cricut, Smart Vinyl was all I used because it was what I got with my Cricut. The biggest convenience is with the Cricut Smart Vinyl Roll Holder. In a later post, I will talk about my favorite tools to use and this will be on it. The whole point of the Smart Vinyl is to avoid using the mats to run your vinyl through the machine. This is a great feature but your vinyl tends to come unrolled and it becomes a mess. The rolls holder helps keep your vinyl under control.
Overall, I like the Smart Vinyl but it depends on the day. I have used it for smaller projects and have not had problems but I have also done bigger projects and it caused me some problems. The vinyl seems a bit thicker, so I found it is a bit harder to weed out the extra vinyl. If you have a more complex project, Cricut Smart Vinyl is probably not the best option.
2. Cricut Premium Vinyl
Cricut Premium is good brand starting out, if you do not want to use the Cricut Smart Vinyl I have talked about previously. It is a decent quality brand compared to others that I have talked about and is a somewhat cheaper option for good quality. Overall, I would recommend this for new users and if you wanted a decent quality vinyl for your projects

1. TeckWrap
When I first started looking into the Cricut, this TeckWrap was always on my feed on social media. Whether I would watch TikTok lives of small business owners or YouTube videos, creators are always using TeckWrap on their products. I decided to see if it was worth the hype and I bought a pack of single sheets to see if I liked it. Honestly, I did really like it and think it is a really good option if you want to start a small business with your machine. I found this vinyl sticks well and doesn’t get scuffed up as easily.
