There are so many things to try when it comes to a Cricut Maker. But what are some of the easier projects to start off with? I am going to walk you through some easy beginner Cricut Projects to get you started with your machine.
Tumblers
One of the main reasons I decided to get a Cricut was because of all decorated tumblers I was seeing on TikTok and other social media. Making these tumblers are very simple and you only need 6 things to do so!
- Permanent Vinyl – any brand works but Cricut brand vinyl may be the easiest as you get started
- A Cricut Maker – I have the Cricut Explorer 3
- Transfer paper – any brand works for this but Cricut may be best to start with
- Weeding Pen – To help remove excess vinyl away from your design
- Cutting Mats – I use the standard grip mats from Cricut
- Tumbler – To get used to using the Cricut workspace on your laptop, I would suggest starting with a Libby Tumbler or something similar to what is pictured below:

Keychains
Whether you are wanting to start a side hustle or just want to create, keychains are an easy way to learn your Cricut and figure out what works best for you. Making these keychains use almost the exact same materials as the tumblers except now you are using keychain blanks.
Amazon or Hobby Lobby is the best place to go for all of your Cricut blanks. Hobby Lobby sells a pack of 6 blanks for around $4 and I have gotten a pack of 36 blanks for around $10 off Amazon.
Overall, these easy to customize keychains are budget friendly option to get started with your Cricut!
Scrapbooking
Recently, I took a trip to London with my college marching band. With it being a trip for a lot of first’s for me, I wanted to be able to have a way to remember it by. It came to me that Cricut machines are capable of being able to hand write with a pen for you. Knowing this, I was able to use my maker to help draw pictures for my scrapbook to make it more personalized!
