Recently, I took a trip to Meadow Forge Flower Farm! This is a flower farm, where you get to cut and pick your own bouquet. In this post I am going to share my honest review of them. Spoiler: I LOVED IT!
Where is it located?
It is located in Lakefield, Minnesota. Not too far off of I-90. It was a very easy location to find, just type their address into your GPS and it takes you right there. You can find their location on their Instagram!
What is Meadow Forge?
Meadow Forge is a big flower farm owned by Hilary and Andy! They have U-Pick dates from roughly July to October. They have a wide variety of flowers that they have planted. One of the main flowers that they have is dahlias, which are absolutely beautiful. You can see the variety of flowers I picked in my pictures below! They did have a few pumpkins when we were there also, but unfortunately they had been almost completely sold out by the time we got there!
What is U-Pick?
U-Pick means exactly what it says, you get to pick your own flowers. I loved this idea because I had never seen any place like this before. I love the creativity it gives you!
How does it work?
They have a little booth set up with snips, a picking bucket, and a vase with water. They also had instructions on the wall, which were very helpful. There is no one there taking money so you can either pay by Venmo or put cash in the cash box. Once you have gotten all your supplies you get to walk around and scout out which flowers you want to choose. I would recommend walking around first because there are just so many pretty flowers. After I walked around once I started cutting which flowers I wanted and creating my bouquet. I would recommend cutting the flowers as long as you can originally because you can cut them to the length you want later. After I chose all my flowers they had picnic tables where you could sit and arrange your flowers in the vase. I brought my boyfriend along for this so we snapped some cool pictures of us in the flower fields before we left!
How much does it cost?
It was 30 dollars in total! You get to pick up to around 20 stems, which is honestly a lot. I definitely think it was worth the price because my flowers also lasted roughly two weeks. They also include the vase in the price, which makes it more worth it. I also think the experience weighs into the price. This was an awesome experience and it was so fun to get to create my own bouquet!
Final Thoughts:
I absolutely loved Meadow Forge, and will continue to go back every year. It was so much fun getting to be super creative with my bouquet. I loved all the bright colored flowers. They were all just so beautiful. I would highly recommend Flower Forge for a date night or with freinds, it is an awesome spot!
