I am Cameron Opkis, a first-generation four-year college student from Nora Springs Iowa. I graduated from Central Springs High School and have since moved on to college. I am currently attending my third year at the University of Nothern Iowa majoring in Marketing: Advertising & Digital Media with a minor in psychology.
One of my favorite sports on campus is the Campanile, right behind me in this photo. I try to have it in view in any classroom I can, and one of those classes happens to be the one that I run this website for!
Speaking of, this website and social media project is a big part of the class I am in titled “Digital Advertising”, and has become one of my favorites after 6 semesters as a student.
Clubs & Organizations
I am involved in many organizations on campus, with a lot of time being put into the American Marketing Association chapter at UNI. I help organize meetings as the Vice President of Professional Development. This means I invite guest speakers to our meetings and overall help to keep a community for our chapter. My highlight as a member was when I competed in a Harvard-level business case competition at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. My team placed second and was awarded a prize of $500.
