I’m going on break next weekend, and as a result, I’ll be heading home and visiting more coffee shops and small businesses near my parent’s house. In addition, there are a couple of coffee shops that I love to go to every time I am in that area. While some have multiple different locations, others only have one. For instance, here are some of my favorite shops in all different locations: Cedar Falls, Fort Dodge, Dunlap, Moville, Logan, Omaha, and a couple more.
Exploring hidden spots, one coffee and ice cream shop at a time.
When one of my high school friends has time to meet, we like to go to small and local businesses. However, our schedules do not match that often. That being said, if we plan to go to a bigger city, Omaha, Des Monies, or Sioux City, we try to get our coffee from a local business at least. For example, some of the businesses we have been to are: Zen Coffee, Rise and Grind, Grey Gelding Coffee Co., and many more. When it comes to deciding what to order at the shop, we typically ask what the other person is getting, as we have very similar tastes. For instance, the one time we did not ask we both got the same drink, we laughed after we realized it.
When we are in Omaha, we try to make it to Downtown of the Old Market. In addition, it’s just nice to walk around in the warm weather and have a coffee or smoothie. There are a couple of different ice cream shops that are perfect for summertime. They all or most are small businesses too. One of my favorite ice cream places is Dolci Old Market. I like to get their root beer float with Sioux City Root Beer. I also just love Sioux City Root Beer, it is in a glass bottle, and it just tastes differently to me.
