Being a flight attendant isn’t always a luxurious job, the flight attendants that I have interviewed so far have definitely agreed. Although it isn’t always glamorous, the places it can take you definitely can be! Here are the flight attendants I’ve interviewed favorite trips!
Hannah
Maui Island in Maui County, Hawaii, and Bozeman, Montana
Maui was the longest layover she’s had with 27 hours to roam around! She told me that each layover is different but the minimum a layover has to be is 10 hours for her airline. Hannah has had some other long layovers (19-25 hours) in cities and she loves exploring and trying new restaurants.

Hannah’s least favorite layover is in Harlingen, Texas… she said there just isn’t much to do or see.

Destanie
Doha, Qatar. Europe. Amsterdam. Venice. London

She explained that Doha is the longest layover because it’s a 14-hour flight, the layover she said is roughly 30 hours. So you get one half day there, stay the night, and one whole day then you leave early the next morning. With Europe, they work a red eye there so they arrive in the morning off no sleep and have one day which isn’t ideal. Destanie said they usually try to nap quickly and make the best of the day then sleep early for their pickup the next morning.
As for her least favorite…
Jacksonville, Florida

Destanie said that sometimes they will get dropped off in random places that aren’t walkable and don’t have very good food options. There is a 30-hour layover here and she explains the area is like a ghost town.
Aly
White Plains, New York. Panama City, Florida

When Aly was Chicago based she got the New York route a lot and she grew to love it. She would take a train to the city. Along with Panama City, her family would go to PCB every year so when she got this route it felt like an extra mini vacation, The longest she has ever stayed somewhere was Billings, Montana which was 33 hours.
Her least favorite trip is an overnight in Killeen, Texas she said there just isnt anything to do there and sometimes she will have a long layover just to do nothing and stay in the hotel.

Rosie
Hawaii. Austin, Texas. New York, Bend, Oregon. Toronto. Boston, Philidelphia

The longest layover she’s had was 72 hours in Orlando, her first year. Rosie said that she doesn’t have a least favorite layover, she says she likes it all and likes to switch up her flying because she gets bored doing the same flights.
Logan
New York City. Omaha, Nebraska. Spokane, Washington. Savannah, Georgia. the Hawaiian Islands, Colorado springs, Boston

Logan’s airline is mostly domestic flights, meaning in the US. The longest time she’s spent somewhere was 23 hours in Honolulu but she enjoys each one and will often pick up trips that are near her family or friends because it feels like a mini vacation for her!
Sarah
Melbourne, Australia was her favorite, she had a 24 hour layover and had a great crew with her.

Sarah’s least favorite layover was Cairns, Australia, purely because her layover was very short

Ethan
Orange County, California. Rome, Italy. Munich, Germany. London, England. Madrid, Spain

On international European flights, they stay for 24-30 hours. His longest layover was 50 hours in Frankfurt, Germany. Ethan’s least favorite layover is Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida

Karen
Beunos Aires, Argentina. Rome. Barcelona, Spain

Karen said Buenos Aires is a 36 hour layover and they used to have a 5 day layover in Santiago Chile she said it was super fun, and SUPER expensive!!
Her least favorite layover is one that she does the most for hours, Dheli, India
