Finding inspiration for sports design isn’t always about staring at a blank screen and waiting for an idea to hit. Much comes from what I see daily on the field, online, and even off the clock. The most significant source of inspiration? Watching actual games. From NFL Sundays to college matchups, I pay attention to uniforms, stadium graphics, social media posts, and even how teams brand their broadcasts. Some teams get it right with clean visuals, bold colors, and hype that matches the energy of the sport.
Social media is another huge part of it. I follow designers, teams, and athletes on Instagram and X to see how they promote themselves. It’s not just the final product that inspires me. It’s seeing how different designers push boundaries, try new styles, or remix old-school looks in a fresh new way. Even things like sneaker designs, vintage sports posters, and video game graphics play a role. Sometimes, a random jersey I see at the gym gives me an idea for a color combo or layout. Inspiration is everywhere. You have to look at it through a creative lens.
