When it comes to traveling to Greece, packing light is a key factor and is necessary if you are moving around a lot. However you do not want to forget any essentials: here is a list of the must haves!
1. Suitcase Backpack
Here is the one I own. The biggest size is under $50 and is almost always on sale! This luggage is a travel life saver. It is small enough to fit as a carryon so you will not have to check a bag which 1. Saves you time at the airport and 2. Potentially saves you money depending on the airline 3. Makes moving around so much easier
2. Packing Cubes
These packing cubes are great especially because they include a laundry bag! Believe it or not, packing cubes will save you LOTS of space because they are good at compressing items while still being organized!
3. Laundry Bag
This is a must so you do not have to worry about your clothes mixing with the dirty ones. Especially in the Greece heat! Packing light you will need to do your laundry and this will be a life saver.
4. Travel Adapter
This is a must if you are traveling from the U.S. to Greece. This is necessary because you will need your devices so you can explore. Your chargers cannot fit into the outlets and evenif they could it will kill your device’s battery as it is the wrong voltage. There are many great options on Amazon! This is the one I use.
5. Portable Charger
Not all planes have somewhere to plug in your phone so this is an essential to surviving long plane ride. This is my favorite portable charger as it plugs right into the bottom of your phone so there are no cords involved.
6. Comfy Shoes
You will be doing lots of walking while exploring Greece especially Athens. Personally I enjoy wearing sandals because of the heat. I love my Birkenstocks, but crazy enough Walmart has my second favorite sandal that can double as a water shoe while visiting the beach.
7. Water Bottle
You will need to carry a water when traveling abroad, especially because tap water is not always available. I drink a lot of water and prefer to bring a big Hydroflask. For those who do not, a collapsible water bottle may be a good option as it will fit into your bag better. Here is a good option that also has a carabiner.
