Hi I’m Kylee and I LOVE coffee! You can always find me with a cup of coffee in my hand. You could say I have an addiction to caffeine. I think I first fell in love with coffee is when I started working at Scooter’s Coffee my junior year of high school. I loved learning everything about coffee to how the beans were processed, to how to make a latte, to what the difference a cappuccino and latte is. Recently I have REALLY fell into the coffee world and now I want to own my own coffee shop and just learn everything I possibly can.

Why I love Coffee
From the very beginning of me working at Scooter’s Coffee I was just a 16 year old that had no knowledge of coffee. But I was eager to learn and that I did. I learned a lot about coffee, I was the girl that would put weird flavors together to see if it would taste good with espresso. I experimented with a blue raspberry and white mocha coffee because I’m a big fan of white mocha and was curious about what flavors might complement it. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t a great combination.
Let’s go way back to when I was a little girl, my grandma would always tell me she couldn’t do anything until she had six cups of coffee then she would be awake. As a little girl I didn’t know what that meant but as I got older I completely understand my grandma’s coffee addiction. I can barely function without a cup of coffee, granted I don’t need six cups I’m good with just one. Growing up watching the addiction slowly went into my subconscious and I knew I was going to have the same caffeine addiction.
Exploring Coffee Shops
I love traveling and anytime I travel there are always early mornings so without a doubt I’m looking up cute local coffee shops to try. Recently over summer I went to Minnesota and before going anywhere coffee was a necessity. I found this place called “Mugshots Coffee” it was the cutest place and what I specifically loved about this place was that all the syrups and sauces were made in house which you can’t find anywhere! What I love about trying new places is the atmosphere coffee shops create. It brings people together either for work, meeting with friends, or even coffee lovers who try new places like me.
In the Cedar Valley area I have a huge list of coffee shops I want to try. But one of my recent favorites is Sarah’s Espresso, the coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is inviting for anyone and everyone.
