The World of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI has created a huge shift in how PR professionals accomplish daily tasks. There are so many tools at the tips of our fingers because of AI. We can now monitor our media analysis, process data, and receive information that once took long periods to research and find, which is now just a click away from the answer you have been searching for. We now can focus our minds on creative and strategic thinking and let AI focus on our routine tasks. 

Influencer Collaboration

The reach influencers have on us is going nowhere soon. Whether it is using them for brand deals or having them back your political campaign, they will always have the opportunity to persuade their followers. Brands love to use this by creating brand deals, collaborations, sending PR packages, and so many other ways to market themselves to a specific audience. In a business setting, finding and creating relationships with influencers that align with your brand’s mission and have a following that is your target audience can create a big impact on your brand. 

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

DEI is a growing program and that is a good thing, people are more willing to speak out and hear about injustices that have gone on. As PR professionals, we must strive to meet the needs and reflect the voices of diverse groups. This response can build brand awareness, and authenticity, and cast a net over a wider audience. Inclusivity should be at the forefront of every campaign, media strategy, and message. 

Integrated Studies

Our experience at the University of Northern Iowa with the classes we are required to take shows how many different aspects and majors go into Public Relations as a whole. We take marketing, advertising, social media, selling, and even accounting. This is because our professors know how to best equip us with the tools we will need to succeed in our future careers after graduation. The lines have begun to blur and collaboration is the dream team when it comes to PR and marketing. 

We have an exciting road ahead in PR and these tools will only continue to grow and help us. This is only the beginning and we can’t foresee them diminishing any time soon. This is why we have chosen to embrace the change and work with it to our advantage. At the end of the day, PR will always be evolving but our goal is to build those relationships and communicate effectively with our audiences.
